Tara Behbahani (Iran)
Splendor Dream/2014/oil on canvas/140cm×140cm
Appreciation: Iran, formerly called Persia, is one of the ancient oriental civilizations. From Persian Empire to Safavid Dynasty, from the Pasargadae in Persepolis to the Mosque in Isfahan, from the Sasanian silverware to the Persian miniatures, numerous historical cultural relics and art treasures were left behind. The Iranian female artist Tara Behbahani was edified by the essence of the traditional Iranian culture from her childhood and was also illuminated by the artistic philosophy and modeling techniques of modern painting. Her oil painting Splendor Dream refers to the floral designs on color-glazed tiles of ancientPersian traditional mosque. These flowers and the surreal illusive silhouette of a modern woman with her child in her arms overlap with each other and the hue of the painting is bright and clean like marbles studded with gems, making it present extraordinary enchanting splendor.
Tara Behbahani was born in 1983 in Tehran,a Master of Art. She has been teaching painting to youth and children since 13 years old.She has participated in the 5th Beijing Biennale, the Magic of Persia Exhibition, London, exhibitions held in the Arsh Art Gallery, Dubai, Mailez Gallery, Paris and so on.
