Key Word: Olympic Games Host Cities
Baron Pierre de Coubertin, father of the modern Olympic Games, advocated that the Olympic Games should be held by cities around the world, which would be conducive to the spread of Olympic spirits. Given the complicated preparation of the modern Olympics, the IOC starts the bids for the Olympic Games eight years from the Games. A city will ultimately be elected as the host city after going through the following process: bid submission, initial IOC selection, inspection visits of the IOC Evaluation Commission and voting of the assembled active IOC members.
City contains the power of modern civilization and boasts cultural heritages, reflecting the past, present and future of a culture in a region. After being chosen as a host city, it will definitely build venues, news centers, Olympic villages and other necessary public facilities. Even the overall planning of this city, including buildings and streets, will be changed accordingly and be recorded in history.
