母亲节（Mother’s Day）是一个感谢母亲的节日，最早起源于古希腊，现代的母亲节由美国的安娜·贾维斯女士在20世纪初发起，定于每年5月的第二个星期日。母亲们在这一天通常会收到礼物，康乃馨被视为献给母亲的花，而中国的母亲花是萱草花，又叫忘忧草。在这个充满温情的节日，让我们通过欣赏历届北京国际双年展“母亲”相关题材的中外入选作品，表达对天下所有母亲的爱与感恩。
Mother’s Day, originated in ancient Greece, is a celebration honoring the mother. The modern Mother’s Day was initiated by Anna Jarvis in the United States in the early 20th Century, and is now observed on every second Sunday of May. Its official flower is carnations and the flower in China is orange day-lily. On this Mother’s Day, let’s appreciate relevant artworks selected in previous sessions of BIAB to express our love and gratitude to mother.

The 9th Beijing International Biennale will be held almost the same time as the 2022 Winter Olympic Games and will begin to accept entries in 2021. The theme creation can focus on the Winter Olympic Games and the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic. We look forward to your participation.
