Beijing Biennale was initiated in 2003, with the ratification of the State Council and it is jointly sponsored by the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles, the People’s Government of Beijing Municipality and the China Artists Association. The Beijing Biennale, as an international academic exhibition with unique pattern, was approved to retain by the Central Government. In the past 15 years, the number of participating countries of the Beijing Biennale has increased from over 40 in the first session to 102 in the seventh and over 4000 artists from all over the world attended the exhibition. It has become the first international exhibition in the world with such a large scale. The La Agencia EFE,S.A. (a Spanish News Agency) highly praised the Beijing Biennale as an influential international platform and the Guangming Daily said it presents a splendid scenery of artistic exchange and integration between the Eastern and the Western countries.
In order to achieve a positive social effect for those collections of previous Beijing Biennales and greater progress in borrowing and assimilating advanced civilization achievements, part of the collections has been successfully exhibited in several foreign countries by integrating in the “The World Trip of Chinese Fine Arts” project. Based on that, the domestic tour exhibition of those collections is launched in Heze, Shan Dong. The second destination is the Liaohe Art Museum in Panjin, Liao Ning Province. One flower can’t make a spring as the most beautiful scenery in spring lies in hundreds of flowers in blossom. We can firmly believe that under the dedicated support from all sections of society, the tour exhibition of collections of Beijing Biennale will be held one after the other and will improve people’s perceptions and ability to appreciate international contemporary art so that the social reputation and publicity of Beijing Biennale will further upgraded and it will also become a brand Huimin project of the China Artists Association.
