China Artists Association is dedicated to the promotion of China’s cultural confidence and has gained fruitful results, and the Beijing International Art Biennale, established in 2002, has played a key role in this process. For the past decade, the Beijing Biennale has constantly invited worldwide artists and theorists to join the gala, and the participating countries have increased from an initial over 40 countries to the present over 100 countries. So far, the Beijing Biennale has successfully reached out to more than 130 countries and there have been more than 4,000 artists from different countries bringing their works with unique artistic charm to the exhibition. The Beijing Biennale is a platform shared by all. During the exhibition and cultural communication, artists abroad expressed their keen interest in various facets of China. Therefore, this platform has also provided a great opportunity to let the voice of Chinese art circles be heard, thus contributing to the strengthening of cultural confidence and consciousness.

"Humanistic Concern of Contemporary Art":
As the permanent theme of human being, peace has profound realistic and historical significance. From the view point of nature and human being, the contemporary art shall reflect deeper consideration between human being of the contemporary age and natural environment. Realizing harmony between man and nature is the basic issue during survival and development of human being. In a word, we want to realize harmony between art and the public, harmony between people and harmony between man and nature. The eminent mission of contemporary humanism is to approach the public, promote harmonious development of man, and realize the pursuit for beauty by human being.

"Colours and the Olympics":
In order to be concerted with the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games, a rare chance in a century, and promote the development of contemporary art in both China and the rest of the world with the aid of the driving force of the Games, the Third Beijing Biennale has been put off for one year, and it has been approved by the Organizing Committee of the Beijing Olympic Games as a vital cultural program of the ‘Humanistic Olympics’. Then, two great events in both the international sports and art circles, the Beijing Olympic Games and the Beijing Biennale, will complement each other, and a new Beijing, in the splendor of the five rings, will display to the full the twofold charm of strength and beauty to the entire world. The Olympic flame will never die out, For mankind always cherishes the dream of peace; The colors of art will never fade away, For mankind always cherishes the aspiration for beauty.

4th Beijing Biennale 2010:
“Environment Concern and Human Existence”
The theme of the 4th Beijing Biennale is “Environment Concern and Human Existence”, so as to make know the culture position and the art responsibility of the contemporary artists over the world regarding the environment problem. Of course art is not the illustration of theme or concept but the artists’ expression of internal spirit and emotion. No matter what content, form and style they have, these works are all the artistic creation rich in inspiration, literary talent and personality, saturated with internal spirit and emotion of artists, placed with good ideal that human and nature live in harmony on, and expressing the feelings of loving all life. So they can arouse humans’ consciousness of protecting environment, enhance humans’ confidence of overcoming the ecological crisis and building a green homeland, and make the visitors get special spiritual edification, molding of feelings and aesthetic enjoyment. If human can really live in harmony with nature, what a wonderful world it is!

5th Beijing Biennale 2012:
“Future and Reality”
With the beautiful future always being human’s dream, the 5th China Beijing International Art Biennale is themed by “future and reality”, since the possible future is based on present reality. No one can deny that future is the fruit of the present, while the reality is the starting point for the future. Though the future is filled with innumerous uncertainty, whether to live together in peaceful, prosperous and harmonious world or to advance toward the ecologically damaged and deserted “doomsday” depends on our choice, attitude and behavior. Moreover, it’s a wise choice and divine responsibilities to eliminate the real disasters & latent dangers, build a foundation for road to our future and unite all the humans globally to make joint efforts to construct a harmonious world and good future.
