The 7th Beijing Biennale under the theme of “The Silk Road and World Civilization” has won wide accolade from the international community and several diplomats and guests of honor were attracted to visit the exhibition as a result of its reputation.
The opening of the exhibition coincides with César Navas, the Ecuador’s Interior Minister’s visit in China. He specially took time out of his busy schedule to the National Art Museum of China to appreciate the exhibition. He expressed his admiration for the great scale, large number of participating countries and higher artistic standard and thought it was a worthwhile trip. On behalf of the government of Ecuador, the Interior Minister expressed his congratulations for the success of the exhibition and extended great thanks for the efforts of the organizing committee of the Beijing Biennale. He stressed that it is under the cooperation of the organizing committee and the embassy of Ecuador that the artworks of Ecuadorian artists can go beyond the boundary of their own country.

The Interior Minister César Navas took a careful observation at the three Ecuadorian artworks selected at the 7thBeijing Biennale and chatted with the Ecuadorian artists. At the invitation of the Greek and Australian artists who happened to be there, the Minister looked at the works of them with great interest. Ms. Wu Pinging, Chairman of the Labor Union of the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles expressed thanks for the Minister’s visit and accompanied him to appreciate the exhibition. She also remarked that, it is because the joint efforts of our two countries that the Chinese audiences can appreciate the excellent works coming far from South America. The Beijing Biennale exhibited every other year has already rooted in the hearts of artists of both from China and Ecuador. It is expected that in the near future, there will be more Ecuadorian artists to create more splendid artworks for future Beijing Biennale.

The Chairman of the Labor Union of CFLAC, Ms. Wu Pingping is presenting the catalogue of the Beijing Biennale to the Interior Minister of Ecuador as a gift
Apart from the theme exhibition of the 7th Beijing Biennale, there are another six special exhibition including the “The Special Exhibition of Contemporary Art of Georgia”. Mr. David Aptsiauri, ambassador of Georgia to China didn’t present at the opening ceremony as a result of his busy schedule, but he made a special visit at the National Art Museum of China on September, 26. He was glad to see artworks from his own country at such a high standard international exhibition. The year 2017 marks the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relationship between China and Georgia. On behalf of the Georgian government, he conveyed gratitude to the organizing committee and praised the achievement both countries have made in political, economical and cultural communication. He also invited the China Artists Association to hold exhibition in Georgia in November.

At the invitation of the National Museum of China, Mr. Jean-Marie Cambacérès, President of the European and International Affairs Section visited the 7th Beijing Biennale on September, 27 and spoke highly of the exhibition. He expressed appreciation of the excellent artistic techniques of artists of different countries and hoped to see more outstanding artworks from French and French-speaking countries in the 8th Beijing Biennale.
