On April 14th 2014, at the invitation of Mr.Ignacio Morro, Cultural Counselor of Embassy of Spain in China, Vice General Secretary of China Artists Association Ms Tao Qin paid a visit to the Embassy of Spain and had a talk with him.
The Vice General Secretary Tao Qin elaborated on the characteristic, the theme of the next session, participating modes and so on. Spain is known for its artistic achievements and long and splendid art history. Velasquez, Francisco José de Goya y Lucientes, Pablo Ruiz Picasso and Joan Miro are all masters of art that we are familiar with. Two print works from Francisco José de Goya y Lucientes participated in previous special exhibition section of Beijing Biennale. Spain is home to many masters of contemporary art. Among those artists, Antonio Lopez-Garcia enjoys great popularity in China and took part in previous Beijing Biennale which has been successfully held for 5 sessions. Art works from Spanish artist can always surprise visitors who came to appreciate it. It is hoped that through this visit, more artists who can represent the highest standard of Spanish art will appear in Beijing Biennale or even create works tailored for the Beijing Biennale. We expect that China and Spain can make more progress in cultural and artistic arena. If possible, Beijing Biennale Office hope to hold a special exhibition about Spanish Realism School represented by Antonio Lopez-Garcia.
Mr.Ignacio Morro is very interested in Beijing Biennale and asked detailed information about the exhibition. He said that he would contact with related institutes in Spain to encourage first-class artists to take part in Beijing Biennale. He thinks that Beijing Biennale is a great platform for art and hopes that more artists will come to China and exhibit their art works.
