On August 7th 2014, director of Beijing Biennale Office Yang Jiarong and vice director Lv Yanfeng and Wu Xiaolei paid a visit to Beijing Municipal Bureau of Culture where they received a warm welcome from the director of the Industrial Development Department Lin Zengwei for the 6th Beijing Biennale in 2015. Vice director general of the Bureau Guan Yu attached great importance to this.
In the first place, director Yang Jiayong extended thanks to Beijing Municipal Government for their great support through all these years. Beijing Biennale has successfully been held for 5 sessions since 2003 and it has enjoyed great scale and influence year by year. Beijing Municipal Government has always been one of the three organizers since the beginning of Beijing Biennale and has provided a lot of concrete support. Director Yang Jiayong then introduced current development of Beijing Biennale which is at the stage of collecting works from all over the world. Beijing Biennale Office has made great efforts for the exhibition and received widespread support and positive response from different communities by sending letters to organizations concerned both at home and abroad and visiting foreign embassies in China.
Director Lin forwarded the suggestions of Vice Director General Guan Yu who thinks that Beijing Biennale has become a cultural brand for the city of Beijing and it has received great achievements since it has successfully been held for 5 sessions. Beijing Municipal Government expressed their confidence for China Artists Association to make Beijing Biennale better and better as it has accumulated plenty of experience in the previous sessions. “Beijing Biennale is featured by its important status and its influence. Beijing Municipal Government is one of its organizers and Beijing Municipal Bureau of Culture takes Beijing Biennale as its important work. Beijing Biennale plays an important role in promoting the image of the city of Beijing and increasing its international influence. Beijing Municipal Bureau of Culture will as always provide great support for Beijing Biennale such as media publicity. It is hoped that Beijing Biennale will serve as an international platform for cultural exchange between China and western countries and raising the cultural soft power of Beijing or even China.” expressed by Director Lin.
